To allow greater flexibility for the research staff, the Department of University Animal Care (UAC) has prepared this "self instruction" web module. This module takes the place of the hour long lecture. Please read the following general information, and complete the quiz. In order to become certified for protocol purposes you must achieve eighty-five percent. |
This program is designed to provide instruction in the principles and techniques for humane restraint, handling and care of Xenopus. The methods presented here are a representative sample of the more commonly used techniques and practices for these species. Any specific problems regarding technique or health care can be addressed by Dr Jim Jarchow, a Tucson veterinarian who specializes in amphibian and reptile medicine and teaches the IACUC Amphibian/Reptile Certification class.
